Postulating Positions was installed in the Laverne Krause Gallery at the University of Oregon in January 2004. It included three pieces, Fill in the Blank, Urban Lyricist, and Cityscape. Fill in the Blank, came out of a series of posters that could be applied to public message board that would allow people passing by to engage in a public discourse about the current state of our government. The next phase included a wall painting, and interface that allowed you to enter in your own comments, and view the opinions of other people. Cityscape is a four by four foot collage constructed from plywood, acrylic paint and magazine clippings, that by itself took on this cityscape as if your were looking up among the sky scrapers of an urban downtown, constructed of advertisements. Urban Lyricistis a series of letterpressed posters printed from linoleum blocks, and wood type. This series is my homage to street art and street poetics, while exploring the darker side of the political heavily depicted in street art at this time.
